I’m just popping in to let you know about some upcoming changes and to share some more CT layouts.

I have decided to move my blog to wordpress. This is something I have been thinking about for some time now but just finally sat down to do it. So, if you have book marked my blog here on blogger, you will need to change your bookmark to http://www.kalodesigns.com/wordpress. I am very excited about this move as wordpress has so many more wonderful customizations that are available.

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

It’s been a bit chaotic this past week at our house. Last weekend we began potty training Kaden and this weekend Logan began potty training. I never intended on potty training them together but it seems to be working better than potty training Kaden by himself.

Kaden did great last week, except for Friday when we had a few setbacks. He had been wearing ‘big boy tighty whities’ (as he calls them) and only had two or three mistakes all week. Then Friday, every time I put on a tighty whitey he instantly peed in them. Ugh! I think I took the setback harder than he did. LOL!

Once we started Logan on Saturday, it became a huge competition. I mean HUGE! This has ended up being a blessing in disguise because both boys went accident free all weekend! Woo Hoo! My boys are Big Boys!

I know we will probably still have our ups and downs but I am just so excited and proud of them right now. I will always be so proud of them, even through all the little setbacks.

This morning I have some gorgeous layouts to share with you that some of my talented guest CT’s created using my Spring Garden Kit. Don’t forget to stop by their blogs to let them know how precious all these layouts are.

QC Call - Rose Brushes 1

Happy Friday!

You are never going to believe what…..I did. I scrapped! I’ve been so busy lately I didn’t realize how long it had been since I actually scrapped something and I never realized how much I was missing it. So, last night I stayed up well past midnight watching Jon & Kate Plus 8, having some wine and scrapping.

This is my favorite ‘recent’ photo of the boys together. I took this photo on a nature walk not to far from our house. I asked the boys if they would stand by each other so mommy could take a picture and I couldn’t believe they did it! They even smiled! I was so excited.

They’re usually so silly I never get an opportunity to take a photo like this. Either Kaden is doing something strange and making strange faces or Logan is hugging, sometimes more like suffocating, his brother as Kaden screams bloody murder. LOL! I guess that's boys for ya?

It had rained the night before so the boys got to wear their big red rain boots. I just LOVE these boots and the boys LOVE to wear them. They were so excited to be able to stomp in all the mud and just be boys. Yeah for the big red rain boots!

Did you see ScrapMatters is having a Design Star Competition to find the next new designers for their store? I saw a post at DST for this and had to jump aboard. What I didn’t realize is how popular of a competition this was going to be.

The first stage of the competition is a blind competition. We were all given random numbers and with my last curious check in the forum, I saw number 130. WOW! This is going to be one tough competition.

For the first week we are all creating a mini kit with 3 papers and 3 elements. I am just dieing to post a preview here but since it is a blind competition I can’t. (Sigh) You can find my kit as well as all the competitors’ kits at ScrapMatters' gallery. You’ll want to hurry though; kits and links are only good for 2 weeks.

New Kit, New Contest, New CT Call and Lots of Exciting News

Good Morning Digi Scrappers!

The sun is once again shinning here in sunny California and we are all finally healthy! Woo Hoo! The boys are just itchin’ to get out of the house and quite frankly, so am I. LOL!

I have lot’s of new and exciting things happening in my little digi world over here and I am bursting at the seams to tell ya’ll about it. So grab another cup of coffee and come and celebrate with me.

I am happy to announce I am having my first CT call. It’s only a one kit call, for my new Easter kit called ‘He Has Risen’.

I am looking for a couple of creative people to do 2 layouts and post to 4 galleries, one at my forum, one at DST and the other 2 are of your choice using the above kit. If interested, please send a short bio plus links (if any) of your gallery(s) to kalo@surewest.net.

To all the digi scrappers in American…Happy Washington’s Birthday! (or President’s Day as it is commonly known)

There is a huge American Heritage Day Celebration at a local veteran’s park/cemetery close to our house that I would love to take the boys to, but unfortunately we are all still sick. (Which also accounts for my lack of blogging.) ((frown)) The boys came down with croup the day after the birthday back in January and we have been passing colds back and forth since then. Now it’s just hubby and I who are still sick so hopefully, this will be the end of it.

I really can’t wait to take the boys to this festival one of these years. George and Martha Washington, Paul Revere, Abe Lincoln are always there, plus there is gold panning, music, food and more. This festival is a great opportunity to teach the boys about our heritage and our country.

Do you know the history of Washington’s Birthday?

The federal holiday Washington's Birthday honors the accomplishments of the man who has been referred to, for over two centuries, as "The Father of his Country". Celebrated for his leadership in the founding of the nation, he was the Electoral College's unanimous choice to become the first President; he was seen as a unifying force for the new republic and set an example for future holders of the office.

By the mid-1980s, with a push from advertisers, the term "Presidents' Day" began its public appearance. The theme has expanded the focus of the holiday to honor another President born in February, Abraham Lincoln, and often other Presidents of the United States.

The holiday is also a tribute to the general who created the first military badge of merit for the common soldier. Revived on Washington's 200th birthday in 1932, the Purple Heart recognizes injuries received in battle.

Today, the February holiday has become well-known for being a day in which many stores hold sales, including those in the digi scrap land.

Embellished Frame Freebie

Happy Monday!

Did you watch the Super Bowl yesterday? We did and we were rooting for the underdogs, the Arizona Cardinals. My computer was on my lap most of the time scrapping of course, but I did look up once and a while to see who was winning. LOL!

Hubby and I have made it a family ritual to just stay at home and watch the game together with the boys, and now that the boys are getting a bit older they sit and yell touchdown when either team scores. It’s really, really cute. And you know Daddy is so excited the boys are watching and participating in sports with him. It’s a guy thing. :)

What did you think about the commercials? Did you have your 3D glasses ready? We put the 3D glasses on the boys so they could watch the cartoon commercial right at the beginning of half time and they really enjoyed it. They looked so cute in those glasses you know I just had to take some photos.

Now it's time for some scrap booking (that is why you came isn't it??? LOL!) and a freebie! I know I mentioned in my last post that I have been playing with some brushes that I have, and so I have another freebie for you. I have for you today.....an embellished frame.

It’s actually pretty funny because this is a frame that I will probably never use; it’s just not my style. LOL! I could see using this frame to scrap a photo of the boys with their Great Grandma, if I could get all three of them in a photo together. LOL! I do like the way it turned out though so I thought I’d offer it as a freebie to you.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

A lot of you are probably wondering what happened to all the freebies. Well, to sum it up in one word…..life. Christmas was busy for us as for all I am sure, and then we had the boys’ birthday right after. Now Logan has croup and my external hard drive with all of scrapping stuff has started to fail. So, I am here, without my beloved hard drive, as it now sits at my back computer transferring all the files to a new hard drive. I feel so lost without it. LOL!

Something else that has been taking up a bit of my time is setting up my own personal store. This is something I have wanted to do for some time because I can now host my own freebies instead of hosting them on 4shared. My files are now more secure and cannot be shared through groups as has happened in the past with 4 shared.

I haven’t had an official GRAND OPENING yet as I am planning on lots of fun, contests, and a HUGE sale. When I do schedule the grand opening you, my blogging buddies, will be the first to know.

There have been so many changes, all for the better, over here in my little digi scrapping world with the opening of the new store (plus all the stores I now sell in), new logos and blinkies, new previews, and a big change in my TOU's. I have decided all my PU items (excluding albums and QP’s) will now be S4H/S4O OK.

I want to thank you all that are still hanging in there with me. These are all big changes for me that have come quite fast, but I know these changes are needed to grow. I truly appreciate each and every one of you for growing with me.

I have also been playing with some new techniques. One of the new techniques I am trying is creating overlays with brushes and shapes. I know, it sounds so basic but believe it or not, I have never done this before. I have so many gorgeous brushes and shapes that I have yet to use and this is the perfect opportunity to show them off. I think I am going to start offering the new overlays in grayscale CU OK and also recolored as PU/S4H/S4O OK.

Here are previews of the first two overlay sets I have created. Country Hollow Scraps Grand Opening & Sales!

I am so grateful for the wonderful birthday weekend we had with the boys!

Friday, hubby and I took the boys to John’s Incredible Pizza Company for their birthday. If you’ve never been to a John’s Incredible, it’s like a Chucky Cheese’s on steroids. LOL! They have all sort of games and a small play ground like C.C., but they also have three indoor rides. We easily spend 2+ hours goofing off every time we are there.

The boys’ favorite game there is basketball. We always stand them up on the game (they are way to short to play otherwise) and they shoot some hoops. After that, we came home for a quite evening at home and to open some presents. Little did we know, this was only the beginning of a major train event at our house.

Saturday was the boys’ birthday party. We kept it small, just family, which was really nice. The party was everything Thomas. Thomas cake, décor, balloons, piñata, goody bags, you name it, we had it.

I really loved our cake. It was from our local Safeway and it turned out nicer than I ever expected. And it was so yummy too. Nothing beats chocolate cake with chocolate filling. Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm!

The Thomas piñata was awesome. Now some of you are probably thinking I must be crazy to have a piñata in the house? You’re right, if it was a regular piñata. Until the boys’ birthday, I never realized you can buy pull string piñata’s. This thing was so cool! There are a ton of strings but only one string opens the piñata. It just so happened that the ‘special’ string was the last string pulled. The boys totally loved this, especially when all the yummy candy fell out.

I am so happy the boys had such a wonderful time. This is the first year the boy’s really were in to their birthday. I can’t wait until next year, because I know it’s only going to get better.

Today is the day! Happy Birthday to my handsome boys who turn 3 years old today!

With the party tomorrow, I actually feel like I am caught up on life and can finally breathe. I have everything ready for tomorrow, except picking up the cake of course which is hubby’s job. LOL! The house is already decorated for today (and tomorrow) and I am just waiting for the boys to wake up and see all the Thomas the Tank Engine stuff everywhere. They are going to love it!

I have finally updated all my stores with my newest products and have all my ads have been sent. There are only 2 days left in my $1 Birthday Celebration so be sure to take advantage of this great sale. After Saturday, all my products go back to full price. $1 Birthday Celebration Sale

Happy Monday Everyone!

You might want to grab another cup of coffee for this one. LOL!

It has been a wild and crazy week. I have just about everything ready for the boys’ 3rd birthday party this weekend. The boys LOVE everything trains so of course we are having a Thomas the Tank Engine party. A couple of weeks ago we bought the boys a family pass at the local train museum so they can visit anytime and have unlimited train rides on the vintage steam engines here and at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park, and they love it! I can’t believe how much the love trains.

I can’t believe the boys are going to be three already either. It seems like just yesterday our crazy little boys entered our lives. The boys’ births were a bitter sweet moment for me and their birthday always reminds me of how lucky and blessed we are to have them.

The boys were born at 29weeks, 11 weeks premature. They both weighed 3# 4 oz which is great for 29 weeks gestation but it was not what we were expecting. They spent seven week in the NICU, had the typical preemie issues, and thankfully came home happy, healthy and thriving. Their 3rd birthday this Friday marks a big milestone because this the year the graduate from the preemie charts to the ‘normal’ child charts.

Happy Birthday Boys! Mommy and Daddy LOVE you both so much!

I am also excited to announce that I now sell at Commercial Duet Scraps. I have been looking for a commercial use only store for a time now and I am so happy to plant my feet at CDS.

Some more exciting news is that I am opening my own store. I have my own domain, www.kalodesigns.com and you can visit www.kalodesigns.com/store to shop directly with me. I'm going to leave my blog address the same so don't worry, you will always be able to find me here. LOL!

I am still setting up the design of my store, but all my products are there. If you stop by you’ll see the default zen cart template. LOL! It’s taking me a bit longer setting up the design than expected, but I don’t know css and I only know self taught basic html so I am learning as I go. Once I do have everything set up, I will have a grand opening sale so keep your eyes out.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

It ended up being another ‘nose stuck in the computer’ weekend for me. I finished up another kit and album so I now have four new products in my stores, the newly named Valentine Kit and album and another kit and album called Spring Beauty.

I have really been having a lot of fun creating these albums with my kits. I’ve moved away from the 12x12 scrap book pages, mainly because of the cost to print them, and have been focusing more on tags and brag book pages. I LOVE being to be able to print a brag book page and place it in a standard frame to sit on my mantle.

I know last week I briefly mentioned I am now a designer at adVENturous Scraps and Country Hollow Scraps and to celebrate I am having a sale. From now until Friday, Dec. 16th, all my products are on sale for 25% off.

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is having a great week!

It has been such a busy week over here. I am now it two more stores, Country Hollow Scraps and adVENturous Scraps. Woo Hoo! I am so excited, and tired! LOL! It has been a bit overwhelming this week getting set up in both stores, but I know it was well worth it. I plan on having a sale in both stores beginning next week so be sure to keep an eye out for the ad.

I can’t believe how many suggestions I have received for the ‘Name My Kit’ contest. You ladies are truly amazing. I started an excel sheet with all the suggestions and gave hubby a sneak peak and he just about fell over. LOL! Hubby has definitely got his work cut out for him. Don’t forget, today is the last day to send in your suggestions and yes, you can submit more than one. Beginning Monday, the kit and album will be moved into my stores.

I know I had more to talk about tonight, but quite frankly I am just too darn tired to remember what it was. LOL! As soon as I remember though, you can be sure you’ll hear from me again.

Merry Christmas Eve!

I have the final kit preview for Divine Digital’s charity kit ‘CARE – The Girl Effect’, and as you can see this kit is gorgeous (and HUGE!). Cyndi at Wetfish Scraps has been working hard to get this preview done to share with everyone before this kit hits the Divine Digital store tomorrow. Remember last week I mentioned I made a surprise present for the boys’ grandparents and great grandma using some of Teri Mayo (Teri’s Thing O My Jig’s) templates? Well, the templates I was referring to were her calendar templates. Oh my, I can’t believe how wonderful this calendar turned out. The page is a regular 8 ½” x 11” size, and I just took my files down to my local Kinko’s and they printed them on their calendar paper and bound them for me in less than a day. Creative Scraps Store Christmas Countdown Freebie

Happy Monday!

Did you survive the last shopping weekend before Christmas? Hubby and I went out for some leisurely shopping, nothing that had to be done, so it was a lot more relaxing then I thought it would be.

Sunday, hubby took Logan shopping while Kaden stayed home with me to bake cookies. Now, you may be wondering why I’m mentioning this. Well, this is the first time Kaden and Logan have ever been separated. That’s right; they have always been together since birth. Even after spending 7 weeks in the NICU they both came home the same day, which is not very common.

Since I don’t have anyone to help with the boys, I have always taken both boys with me everywhere I go, and we do go everywhere (LOL!). I guess it just never crossed my mind to do any different. The plus side of always taking them every where is they are use to this and they are great little shoppers.

Just last week we ended up spending an hour at the bank opening a new account and the boys did awesome. Now you would have thought the bank employees would have taken one look at 2 year old twins boys and sped things up a bit, but I guess they were feeling a bit daring that day. LOL! Anyways, I do think the boys really enjoyed the one on one time today, so we’ll have to make these little one on one dates with mommy and daddy a bit more often.

Twas The Night Before Christmas

Happy Wednesday!

Can you believe there are only 8 more days until Christmas? Do you have all your shopping done? Or are you one to wait until last minute and brave the busy stores? LOL!

Today I am finally getting out my Christmas cards. I finished the surprise presents for the grandparents and great grandma using some of Teri Mayo’s templates. Do you know the ones I’m talking about? She’s been offering them since about the middle of last year (I think). I’d love to mention them by name but I can’t just yet, since I know my mother reads my blog. We see my mother this weekend though, and I can’t wait to share the photos with you next week.

I have also decided to take a break from designing kits to work on some CU elements and papers. I have a few more Christmas freebies to offer this year, and then I will begin offering more CU freebies next year.

It has been a busy past couple of months with working, designing, the holidays, club events and just life with twins and I am tired. January is the boys 3rd birthday and I haven’t even started on it yet. (Sigh) Don’t worry though; I won’t be gone from designing kits long.

Saturday we took the boys to a couple neighborhoods around town that have a reputation for having awesome Christmas lights displays. Wow! I couldn’t believe how awesome some of these houses looked, so much better than what I ever imagined.

This year is the first year the boys are really taking an interested in Christmas lights at night and they were so excited every time we got out of the truck to walk a neighborhood. I have a slide show below of some of the houses we visited; though my photos do not do these houses justice. The time and effort that people put in to their displays, all for others to enjoy, is so generous.

The Santa Social this past weekend was so much fun. Kaden was so in to Santa and Logan, still as always, wanted nothing to do with him. (Sigh) Tom, one of the dads, snapped a photo of the boys running from Santa and Mrs. Claus which would be so cute on a Christmas card. Hopefully, I can get that from him. If not, I did get a couple of photos I think might work for Christmas cards. If not, I think I will just use the train photos from the end of last month.

I have been such a bad blogger this past week. I received an award last week from Annie of Annie's Design and I am just now getting around to thanking her for it. I really don’t have any excuse except for life has gotten in the way of designing this week, and I am so sorry I did not mention this earlier. I truly appreciate her giving me this award.

Annie is also a team member at Creative Scraps and has some wonderful tutorials on her blog. Be sure to stop by and check out some of her kits and tuts. You can also find her kits at the Creative Scrap Store.

This morning I have the first in a series of small kits that were to be a part of a bigger collab that was cancelled earlier this month. I was so sad to hear of this collab being cancelled because I loved the basis of the collab, Christmas Carols. Ever since I signed up for this collab, which was before Thanksgiving, I have been signing Christmas carols to the boys. I just love Christmas carols, especially the old original versions.

Instead of just tossing the parts of the collab that I designed, I decided I would offer them as freebies to you in hopes that someone can use them for their holiday memories. I will also have small kits from the carols Twas the Night before Christmas and Away in the Manger later this month for you.

Happy Friday All!

Just popping in with a little gift for everyone, a QP from my Christ is Born kit.

ADSD Holidays At Home Collab

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house in the Bay Area. This year was a small dinner with just our family, my parents and great grandma. It was really nice to have a small dinner so great grandma could have some quality time with the boys. I must have gained 5 pounds that day alone (and of course a few more the rest of the weekend eating leftovers. LOL!).

Grandpa bought the boys toy planes to shoot in the air for Thanksgiving. These were the old school thin wooden ones kids used to play with years ago. I’m not sure who had the most fun though, the little boys or the big boys.

Saturday we took the boys to Train Time with Santa. I was a little nervous that Logan wouldn’t want to ride the big train but thankfully he was all for it.

The train was an old ‘classic’ train without any new posh amenities, which was great. I am so happy the boys experienced how trains used to be, not what they are now. Though, I didn’t realize how much trains rock while they are traveling, especially going over an old wooden bridge. LOL! The boys of course thought it fun to ‘stand up and ride the waves’ of the rocking train.

Santa came through towards the end and so hubby and I switched seats so Santa could sit with the boys, boy was that a mistake. I have never seen my boys jump and run as fast as they did when Santa sat next to them. LOL! Oh well, so much for that Christmas card opportunity. Guess we’ll just have to try again later.

We sat in the rear coach car, which later turned in to the first car behind the engine, for the 40 minute ride. There were two folk singers who came through signing Christmas carols and then Santa came through with a gift for all the kids. This ride was so well organized and I can’t believe how much the boys enjoyed their first BIG train ride.

This morning I have for you the December ADSD Collab Holidays at Home. The papers for this kit turned out to be huge, seven downloads huge. I really wanted to get that crinkled Christmas wrapping paper look so I used multiple overlays and, also wanting to keep the files small for those on dial-up, I split the papers into seven downloads.

November Challenge QP

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I have officially embarked on a mission to get a good photo of the boys with Santa. I figure, the more they are exposed to Santa, the better chance I have at getting a good Santa picture. I’m not trying to get that perfect photo of the boys sitting on Santa’s lap smiling, because quite frankly I know there in no way that is going to happen. But, I do have a few ideas that I think would be so cute.

Train Time with Santa begins this weekend at the Sacramento Railroad Museum. Children and their parents can go for a train ride with Santa and get to know him a bit more. I even think Santa gives the kids a small gift. I would be so happy to get a photo of Santa handing the boys a gift and the boys gazing up at him. That would be so cute. I would even love for this to be an annual family event each year with Santa, and the photos with Santa can be our pictures for Christmas cards.

The other ‘Santa’ event we have on our schedule is our MoM’s Santa Social the first weekend in December. The children get to spend two hours with Santa and Mrs. Claus and I’m hoping to get some good photos here too.

Kaden loves Santa and asks to see him every day. Logan, not so much. LOL! He could really do without seeing Santa, ever. I am crossing my fingers this changes as we Santa a bit more over the next month.

This morning I have a QP I made for the monthly challenge at CU Freebie Only Forum (the QP itself is PU only). I tried to do something a bit out of the box for me by using multiple layers of papers with various prints. I (think) I like the way it turned out. LOL! Winners are chosen by the number of downloads, so if you like my QP please be sure to grab it.

CU Yellow Rose Freebie

Happy Friday!

I am amazed at how much fun throwing rocks in a river is for little boys. Wednesday I took the boys to a local dam to throw some rocks and they were at it for almost 2 hours. I thought they’d be tired after that, but oh no. There were so mad when I told them it was time to leave to go have lunch. LOL! Boys will be boys. I guess this will have to be a regular trip for us. The dam is so close to the house and the best part is, it’s free.

Amongst the all the rock throwing, I was able to get a few more CU items done and uploaded to my store. Two of the products are CU roses from my garden. It’s still averaging around 75 degrees here and the roses love it, and I love how beautiful they look. My favorite by far is my yellow rose. I must say, it is such a lovely shade of yellow

The third item are some CU leaves the boys and I picked up on a nature walk around the neighborhood recently. They love to search for their favorite leaves to bring home and play with. Of course, these dried leaves make quite the mess for mom to have to clean, but I don’t mind when I see them collecting, sorting and organizing all their new treasures.

I also have a CU freebie for you this morning. This is one of the yellow flowers from my latest additions to my store, Yellow Rose. I hope you enjoy it.

I also wanted to share some new products I just added to my store. I have three sets of overlays from a recent trip the boys and I took up to Coloma along the American River. The first set is of various textures around the river bank. The other two sets are various clouds we saw that day. All these sets are commercial use OK.

I also have two sets of grayscale flowers. The first set consists of some of my roses from my front yard. The second set consists of some of the hibiscus’ we have in our back yard. These sets are commercial use OK as well.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I know I don’t normally post on the weekends, but some things have occurred this weekend that I need to focus on and devote my time to.

First off, I want to say ‘Thank you’ to Brandi of Brandi’s Creations for giving me the Kreativ Blogger award. I truly appreciate receiving this award from such a creative designer. Be sure to stop by and check out her kits. She has some of the cutest little characters I've ever seen in some of her kits.

This weekend began with great joy and ended with devastating sadness. Friday, my cousin’s husband died suddenly from a massive heart attack at the age of 34. I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news. Words can’t express how sorry I am for his family and my heart is deeply saddened for what his wife and daughters must be going through.

I also need to spend some time this week uploading my designs to the new DigiScrapDepot store. That’s right, DigiScrapDepot is opening a store and I am going to be selling my designs there. Woo Hoo! I am so excited to be given this opportunity and I am so thankful to Amanda who has been helping me get everything set up.

Happy Wednesday!

I know I have been MIA for a few days but I have decided to embark on a new project, a personal Christmas project for the grandparents and great-grandma of the boys. I know Christmas is still a ways away, but with the changes that are coming I am a bit worried about time.

I still have some wonderfully exciting news to share with y’all, it’s just taking a bit longer than I expected. And trust me; it is killing me holding this in. I can’t wait to share my joy with everyone and I am hope, hope, hoping to do it this weekend.

Some of the mommies asked if I would host a Lunch Bunch play date at the mall playground yesterday since it was Veteran’s Day, and their older kids were out of school. Let me tell you, everyone else in town must have had the same idea. I couldn’t believe how many kids were at the mall having fun.

Then the unimaginable happened. Of course we had all been promising our little ones some good yummy fried food if they behaved on the playground, well low and behold, we get upstairs and the food court had been sealed off by a wall. Yep, that’s right; they build a new wall around the entire food court. No doors, nothing.

I was just there on Sunday and the food court was open and serving all the high calorie yummy’s they serve everyday. Not today though. There was a little sign that said the food court would reopen on Nov. 13th in a new location. What, a mall with no food?!? And on a holiday?!? They had to be kidding. Why wasn’t there a sign as we walked into the mall so we would know NOT to make promises to our little ones we couldn’t keep?!? LOL!

I can tell you who must have been totally thrilled about this whole situation, Nordstrom. Yep, they have food. Food that’s not cheap by the way. So, for over $20 the boys and I had lunch.

Happy Friday!

I was working on next months ADSD collab last night when, once again, I had gone off in a whole new direction. It’s really any surprise that I ever finish a kit. LOL! Anyhoo, my intention was to make a few vintage baubles for the collab, but since I LOVE vintage oh so much, I found myself unable to stop making baubles.

What did that lead to you ask? A new product for my store! I just added a set of 10 personal use vintage baubles to my store for only $1.99.

You can use these baubles to enhance all of your holiday layouts. I plan on making some more baubles over the weekend (probably some glitter, some satin, and what ever else I can think of) so be sure to stop back by on Monday to see what’s new in the store.

Since I did get a bit carried away making baubles tonight, I am going to keep this short and sweet so I can head off to bed.

I had the best day ever yesterday. I received some wonderful and exciting news and can’t wait to share it with you. The only thing is, I can’t share it quite yet (sigh). I am so bummed because I want to SHOUT IT to the world; Lord knows I can’t keep a secret. LOL!

Did you know today is my 100th post! Woo Hoo! I can’t believe it. This is so special to me especially with the news I received yesterday; it is just fitting. I was really, really, really hoping to announce everything today in my 100th post but, it just wasn’t meant to be. I am still giddy nonetheless and probably will be for quite some time.

I’m out and about early this morning after being locked in the house for the past two days with the boys, so...you get another short post. (I can hear the cheers now!) ROTFL!

Good Morning Everyone!

Since I am just getting home and I am extremely tired, this is going to be a quick post this morning.

I had the most wonderful little chat on Yahoo’s Pingbox yesterday with Teri @ Teri’s Thing-O-My-Jigs. She is such an awesome lady and was so sweet to let me ask her a few questions and get some much needed advice. Thank you again Teri for a bit of your time. I truly appreciate it.

I have been following Teri’s blog for a long time now. She loves God and has many “Lessons from God” throughout her blog in addition to her beautiful designs. Oh, and Teri just shared some wonderful news with the digiscrapping world today. She just officially joined Pretty Scrappy’s design team. Woo Hoo! Congratulations Teri! I am so happy and excited for you. I know you trust God and the plans he has for you, and I know he has some amazing plans for you. You are an amazing lady!

Thanksgiving Blessings QP and Day 1

Good Morning Everyone!

I have a lot to cover in this post so it is going to be a bit busy and long winded. But don't fret, this morning I have not one but two goodies for you.

First off, I want to thank Nani from the Chronicles of Nani for an award she gave me last week.

This award calls for seven things I love and to pass it on to seven people.

Seven things I love are:

1) My family
2) Coffee, coffee and more coffee (to try to come close to the energy level of my boys. LOL!)
3) The sound of my boys laughing
4) Photography (I’ve taken over 15,000 photos on my camera that I received two Christmas’ ago. Since the count reset on April 28th, 2008, I have taken 5232 photos. Look like I’m shooting for a new record this year. LOL!)
5) Shopping (what girl doesn’t?)
6) Sushi (which I do not get enough of)
7) Cooking and trying new recipes

I totally APPRECIATE the awards that go around on the blogs and from the bottom of my heart I thank Nani for giving this to me. I have pondered and pondered and there is no way I can pick just a few special designers to pass this to. I feel that every designer has their own specialty and I know that each of us put our heart and soul into our work.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween! The boys had so much fun trick or treating for the first time and let me tell you, they had it down after the first house.

Before we went out, I asked the boys if I could paint a Superman emblem on their face. The boys hate to have their hands stamped or wear tattoos so I figured the make-up I bought was going to head straight for the trash. I couldn’t believe after I asked them if I could paint Superman on their faces and gave them a mirror to watch, they sat there quietly the whole time. I am so proud of them, and they were so proud to have Superman painted on their face. This is the only time the boys willingly came to me to have the pictures taken. LOL!

We are REALLY big on manners in our house, so the ‘rule’ was they would go up to a house, knock (or ring the door bell), say trick or treat, hold their bag up for candy, then say thank you, and happy halloween. These were big phrases for my little supermen and it was so cute to hear them stumble and blur all the phrases together. All the treaters who gave us candy just laughed every time the boys talked.

The boys had so much fun this Halloween I just had to scrap some photos. The papers and elements in my layout are from my Thanksgiving Blessings kit. I know these are Halloween photos but I am just in the mood for some of my favorite fall colors. And since ‘pumpkin’ pie is one of my all time favorite Thanksgiving treats, this page will perfect to scrap some of those Thanksgiving memories with too.

Isn't that the cutest little pumpkin collage you have ever seen? I picked that up from Pam @ The Ladybug Pages blog back in the beginning of October. She offered it as a CU freebie template and when I saw it I just knew I had to have it. She still has it available on her blog for download and you can go directly to it by clicking here.

It’s a new month which of course means another new ADSD collab. This month’s collab is titled After Dusk.

I must admit, this was a bit of a challenge for me. Since we have twin 2 ½ years olds, our night life is a bit lacking, to say the least. We don’t have opportunities to go out as a couple since we don’t have anyone close to the boys that is willing to watch them. When I do get away ‘after dusk’, it is usually a girls night out with friends.

You Know You Miss Me!

Are you guys missing me this week? LOL! I have been catching up on some of the tedious tasks that I hate oh so much. I must say though, I am getting a lot accomplished and it feels pretty good.

Our MoM’s Halloween Carnival last Saturday was so much fun. We had a cake walk, games, potato sack races and a parade. That was quite a lot of activity for a 2 hour period. We wanted to be sure and burn off all that sugar the little ones ate before locking them in their car seats and sending the home for the day.

Here are some photos of our little Superhero's. (Note: I am not posting more photos of the costumes because some parents understandibly prefer not to have photo's of their children on the internet.)

All the costumes were so adorable. With all the families of multiples, I still can’t believe all the families little ones had different and unique costumes. No family had the same costumes as another family. Wow! Unbelievable.

Sunday Daddy and I took the boys to a small local zoo to see the animals and ride the train. I can’t believe how much the boys love to ride trains. Just a month ago they wouldn’t give it a shot, now we can’t keep them away.

I’m probably not going to post anything new until the release of the November ADSD collab. I once again (and yes, already) have myself feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have no idea what I was thinking this past week when I signed up to create four kits for two different collabs and be a guest designer on a charity kit. This of course is in addition to the Christmas, Advent and Winter kits of my own that I am working on. You can bet I had one (or two, maybe three, oh heck possibly four) too many glasses of wine over the weekend. ROTFL!

Of course, all you out in digiscrap world will reap the benefits of my insanity with all the freebies I will have in December. Woo Hoo!

Happy Friday!

I am so happy to see so many of you enjoyed the “as-is, unfinished” brag book pages. I wasn’t sure if they’d be of use to anyone so I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of downloads they have received.

This week I found out there is something wrong with my newsletter, basically I don’t think it is going out anymore. Yesterday I had a small amount of time and tried to resolve the problem with FeedBlitz, but I guess what I did really didn’t do anything since I still didn’t receive a newsletter this morning. I will try this weekend to see if I can figure out what is wrong. I may just need to delete this newsletter and create a whole new one. If that doesn’t work, I may switch my newsletter over to Feedburner and give that a try. *sigh*

I am happy to announce I just added 31 CU Stock Photos to my store. The photos can be used for pretty much anything you want. Feel free to create elements, overlays, papers or anything else you can think of. The only thing I ask in my TOU’s is that you do not distribute my files as-is. All photos are sized approximately 3000 x 2000 px and 300 or 500 ppi. I will be adding new photos frequently since I love to take pictures when I am out with the boys, so be sure to stop by my store and see what is new.

This morning I have another CU freebie. It is a photograph my hubby took while the boys and I were riding a train at the pumpkin patch. I didn’t know he took this until we got home and downloaded my camera.

Hubby is so funny sometimes. He knew I was taking photo’s to make CU items and for some stock photos (this photo is from the same trip as last week’s CU Pumpkins Overlay), so while the boys and I were off having some fun he took a bunch of photos around the pumpkin patch for me. He is such a sweetie. I hope you enjoy this photo and I would love to see what you create with it.

Trish – I am so happy you found my blog and are enjoying the freebies, I’m curious how old your twins boys are? Mine will be 3 in January. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. Everyone said it would, but I wasn’t expecting this.

Boo-tiful Halloween Brag Book Page 2

Good Morning Everyone!

Yesterday the boys and I went to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm with the MoM’s club. This place is so cool! There was a tree house with a big slide the boys played on, toy tractors in soft dirt for extra filthy fun, an old train to explore in, a train ride through the farm, and a petting zoo with goats, chickens, a goose, a cow and turkeys. We almost didn’t make it to the pumpkins. LOL!

We arrived there a bit early and while waiting for the other MoM’s to show up Logan found the one and only muddy spot and fell in it. I couldn’t believe it. Little munchkin knew I was looking for the ‘perfect’ pumpkin patch picture and he was determined not to go through mommy-trying-to-get-the-perfect-photo torture again. ROFLMBO! Little did he know though, mommy brought costumes. Woo Hoo! Score one for mom!

Here are a couple of the photos from today. I won’t bore you with them all (even though you know I really want to), so here are some of my favorites.

OK, I know that was more than a couple. Hey, what can I say? I’m a proud mommy. I know I need to fix the lighting on a few. I probably won’t get to that until I get to scrapping them, so who knows when that will get done.

I also have for you the second brag book page I started but didn’t finish. To my wonderful SIL Sandy - you’re killing me. LOL! I’ll see what I can do to get the pages finished. Yes, I know they won’t be needed until after Halloween, so I will get busy. LOL! Even though, this may cut into our recipe card project.

Boo-tiful Halloween Brag Book Page 1

Happy Monday!

Saturday was my first day of work. It was nice to be back in my old desk. Once I got there, it was just like old times. My boss and I caught up on a few things and I was able to make a dent in the project I am working on for her. I am truly blessed she is giving me this opportunity to work at my convenience, around hubby’s schedule and my MoM’s club schedule.

Sunday we took the boys to our neighbor’s grandson’s third birthday party. We’ve had a few play dates with Logan (yes, his name is Logan also) but I didn’t really know what he was in to. I took a wild guess while at Wally World the other day and picked up a dinosaur toy and I hit the nail on the head. Turn’s out he was having a dinosaur party. Woo Hoo! I am so happy he loved the dino toy and I hope he enjoys it for years to come.

Tuesday is my MoM’s club pumpkin patch trip and we also have our Halloween carnival this Saturday, and I am hosting both. I am also going to be working a few hours each night, so I don’t foresee me finishing the Halloween brag book pages before Halloween. I am sorry but I am just running out of time this month and I am wondering if I have taken on too much recently.

I do have two brag book pages that I started but never fully finished embellishing them, so I am going to offer them ‘as is’ with plenty of room and opportunity for you to customize and make your own personal pages. I hope you enjoy them.

CU Pumpkin Overlay Freebie

Happy Friday!!!

I have been having the most wonderful conversation tonight with Linda at Bon Scrapatit on her new Pingbox. I can’t believe how much we have in common. She is such a neat Lady and I am so blessed to have the opportunity to get to know her a bit more.

She even got me addicted to this Pingbox thing. I’ve never really IM’d with anyone before so to me, this thing is pretty cool. So look what I now have (to the right) right above my cbox. That’s right, I have a Pingbox.

So since it’s late and I have a restless little one tonight, I’m going to borrow the instructions for the Pingbox from Linda (thank you sunshine, I owe you one). I will type up my own little blurb in the morning.

Some good news tonight, my boss’s mother has been released from the hospital. She is being moved to an assisted living apartment for the time being until she is strong enough to live in her own house. Good news is they believe they did in fact remove all the cancer. Thank you to everyone who sent prayers her direction. I know the family is forever grateful.

So this means I begin work on Saturday. I’m excited but still a bit nervous. I got side tracked tonight talking with Linda so I didn’t finish the Halloween brag book pages I started. Also, I just realized the 25th is our MoM’s Halloween Carnival (boy how time flies) which I am hosting so I have a few things to finish up with that in the next few days. I am still hoping to finish the brag book pages this weekend to have ready for Monday, but we’ll have to see how much I work this weekend and next week. I’ll have something for you next week; I’m just not sure what yet. (*smiles*)

Today I have for you my first commercial use freebie! (Yippie!) It is a pumpkin overlay from the recent trip the boys and I took to the pumpkin patch. I would love to hear you comments about this overlay, if you like it (...or not, sniff sniff). LOL!

I'm Gonna Ramble On, Sing My Song

I don’t have a freebie today but I am in the mood to ramble. ROTFL!

Hubby is out tonight on business and the little munchkins were driving me so crazy today that I put them to bed early. The tube is on my favorite all time show ‘John & Kate Plus 8’ (reminds me my crazy, hectic life with multiples is normal) and I am having a nice glass of wine. Oh how I miss these quite nights.

I can’t believe how much I am accomplishing having the house to myself. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to offer next week until I remembered I have some CU Halloween templates I purchased from Cindy Ritter. I am trying (trying, trying, trying) to offer something every week, but with the twins, MoM’s club commitments, trying to get more CU items in my store and upcoming collab time frames I am finding myself stretched a bit thin on my design time. Yikes!

This is where the templates come in. This is the first time I have every used templates to create pages and boy have I have been missing out. I can’t believe I already have 3 brag book pages ready to go for next week and I am hoping to get a couple more done later this week so I can offer one daily next week. Woo Hoo! These things are a God send.

Speaking of our Heavenly Father (and his only begotten son), if you have a favorite scripture that pertains to Christmas and the birth of Jesus just let me know and I will create a word art to include in my Christmas kit for you to use. So far I have created word art for Luke 2:11 (For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord), Luke 2:14 (Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men!), John 1:14 (And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.) and John 1:29 (Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!).

I am using a KJV Bible that my hubby’s grandmother had as a child because I have a NAB Bible (New Answer Catholic Bible) and the wording is a bit different and I think the KJV is more popular among Christians. So I guess, if you have a specific verse you would like to see, you may want to e-mail the verse text and not just the book name/verse number. Now, my word art is nowhere near the word art some of the other gals out there create, but hey, it’s a start. Here is an example one of the word art I have already created.

Tomorrow I think I am going to offer my first commercial use freebie. This feels like such a big step for me. I am so excited (and a bit nervous) as well. I think I am going to offer one of the overlays from my Pumpkin Patch overlay set since we are still in that season. (Deep breath)

Jody – I’m sorry but I don’t think I have any smiling pumpkins in this kit. I do have other ‘happy’ Halloween characters that I hope you will like. I’ll see if I can make a pumpkin that I am pleased with and if so I’ll do an add-on to this kit later this week.

Rottie Mom - I am so happy you enjoyed Fleet Week so much. I didn’t realize the Canadian Forces Snowbirds were part of Fleet Week, how cool that must have been to have the opportunity to watch them perform also. And how lucky are you to have front row seats :).

Boo-tiful Halloween Papers (Solids & Plaids)

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Saturday we weren’t able to make it up to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm because it was just too windy. We didn’t want to disappoint my parents though so we did take a trip to a local farm just around the corner from us. Thankfully it is surrounded by trees, so the wind wasn’t too bad.

The boys had so much fun picking out their pumpkins. They boys love all things ‘baby’ so they kept picking out all the baby pumpkins. At one time, they gave Grandma and Grandpa so many pumpkins they dropped them all. LOL!

This was also the first time the boys rode a train. (Woo Hoo!) I am so proud of them for giving it a try. Before, every time we would ask them they would say ‘no’ and with my boys no means no. We didn’t ever push them of force them because we figured they would try it when they were ready.

It’s hard to try (some) new things with twins. It seemed like it was usually just me and the boys whenever we had the opportunity to ride a train, and I was always nervous if they both freaked out during the ride and wanted out what would I do. Ride operators can’t always just stop a ride, so I really wanted someone else to be with us when we tried this for the first time. I am so happy hubby and my parents were there to help and the boys were able to ride their first train.

Here are a couple of photos from the pumpkin patch, though I wasn’t able to get the ‘perfect’ Halloween photo I am looking for. It was still a bit windy so the boys weren’t cooperating too well. Oh well, we still have a couple more pumpkin patches to visit this year and also the MoM’s Halloween carnival so I’m not panicking yet.

Rottie Mom – I forgot about Fleet Week. I haven’t been there since I was a child. Have a great time watching the Blue Angels. I love watching them and can’t wait until the boys are a bit older so they can enjoy them as well.

Jesse7 – What a great idea! I never thought about having the kids pick out their favorite photos to make their own photo books to share with friends. I will have to keep this in mind for when the boys get a little bit older. They love to look at pictures on my computer so I am sure they would enjoy this fun little project.

This morning I have the first set of paper from a new kit for you called Boo-tiful Halloween. I know, the name is a bit corny but the kit isn’t really scary or grungy so I decided to call it Boo-tiful. LOL!

Fall Splendor Brag Book Pages Day 4

Happy Friday!!!

I am so greatful for the autopost feature in blogger. Tonight is Girls Night Out (Woo Hoo! and much needed if I may say. LOL!) so this is going to be a quicky post.

Thank you all for the supportive comments about my new store. I appreciate it so much. I know there is not much there now but I will have some new goodies added shortly.

We are still set to go to Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm tomorrow. I really hope the winds die down a bit or it may not be much fun with all the dirt blowing around. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mother Nature will work with us because I am just dieing to get some photos of the boys in their Halloween costumes.

Fall Splendor Brag Book Pages Day 3

Did you miss me yesterday? LOL! I got caught up trying to get a few things organized for my new store and I totally forgot to get the next brag book page posted.

What’s that you say? Did I say store? That’s right; I am opening up a store. Times are tough for everyone right now and we are no exception. Right now I just have a couple of items in the store and I still have more I need to add as time permits. This isn’t going to be a big store, just some commercial use items I have and some of the personal use kits that have links that have expired. I am still going to offer freebie personal use kits, albums, collabs as well as some commercial use freebies.

If you want to take a look at the new store, there is a link on the upper right hand side of the blog, but please be patient with me as I build my inventory. Also, I am still working on setting up an automatic download for products after they are purchased. Until I resolve this, I will need to e-mail the download key(s) for the kits/resources that have been ordered. If there are any ‘seasoned’ store owners out there that have any advice for me, I would love to hear everything you are willing to share. (yes, I am sending out a plea. LOL!).

If you are wondering about me working for my (old) boss, that has been put on hold for a bit. Her mother was diagnosed with cancer a month after her father passed. A couple of weeks ago she went in for surgery to remove the cancer and they didn’t get it all because it had spread farther than expected. So she has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. If you could remember her in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.

Today’s brag book page is the third page in the preview. There is one more page that I will post tomorrow.

Fall Splendor Brag Book Pages Day 2

Good Morning!

We’re off to the zoo this morning for (probably) the last time this year. The boys have enjoyed the zoo so much this year I decided to take them one last time before the rains come.

Then I decided, why not make a club event out of it! The more the merrier! So I have four other MoM’s and their little ones meeting us for some zoo-rrific fun.

fl_Connie – I loved your story about the school of rays. I think rays are one of the most beautiful and graceful creature of the sea. I would love to experience an event like you did. It would be tense at first, but the experience would be unforgettable.

I also thought about why the deer may have been stampeding. After talking to my hubby, he said there are mountain lions in that area so that may be a possibility. The last thing I need to do is get up and close with a mountain lion while I have the boys (Hubby and I had this experience a couple of years ago in Desolation Wilderness, South Lake Tahoe. We were hiking about 9400’ feet up when we heard a noise, turned around and were face to face with a mountain lion that was about 10’ away. Hindsight again, I wish I had a video recorder for that one too. LOL!).

Fall Splendor Brag Book Pages Day 1

Happy Monday Everyone!

I am so sad I don’t have any pumpkin patch photos to share everyone. Friday afternoon Kaden came down with a fever and Logan followed soon after. I can’t believe how often the boys have been sick this summer. I guess it is only to be expected since we are out and about almost every day.

We rescheduled the pumpkin patch with my parents to this upcoming Saturday. Instead of going to Livermore, my parents are going to head towards our house and we are going to meet at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. This farm has train rides, a petting zoo, pig races, a corn maze, wagon rides, and much more. The boys will definitely have a blast there.

I think I am going to take the boys costumes with us to see if we can get some cute photos of them in their costumes. We got a few cute photos last year while the boys were dressed up in a pumpkin patch. They were the cutes little skeleton pirates I have ever seen. (OK, so I might be a little bias. LOL!)

This week I have four brag book pages from my Fall Splendor kit. I am going to offer one page per day this week, in the order of the preview from left to right. I hope you enjoys these and can scrap many of memories with them.

Fall Splendor QP #2

Happy Friday!

I have decided to combine my personal blog with this one. With the boys, the multiples club, me hopefully going back to work soon, designing and this blog I just don’t have enough time to keep up on both blogs. Don’t worry, I’ll still have lots of freebies for everyone, I’m not giving that up anytime soon.

Actually, not much should change here. Once in a while I may ramble a bit more about personal life (yes, that is possible. LOL!), you’ll get to see some of my personal photos, and you’ll all get to know me a bit more. I know you are excited now (wink, wink). ROTFL!

Yesterday morning was so cool and overcast I decided to take the boys to the Effie Yeaw Nature Center. It was so peaceful to step into nature and away from the daily hussle and bussle. I didn’t realize until after we were there for about half an hour how much I needed to just take a break from everything (phones, computer, driving, people, etc.). I felt a calm come over me as we were walking down the different trails. It was so peaceful.

Can you believe I took more photos of the deer than I did of the boys? LOL! The deer cooperated so much better than the boys did. They seemed to just stop and pose for every shot. One deer even let us get within a couple of feet of it. The boys loved watching all the deer, turkey’s, duck’s and squirrels.

These are two of my favorite deer photos from today.

We did have a tense moment after all the calm as we were heading home on one of the trails. All of a sudden I heard a steady pattern of hooves in the fallen leaves. I turned and a couple dozen deer were in full sprint and headed straight towards us. We didn’t have time to run so I just grabbed the stroller, turned it facing away for the oncoming deer and held on. We were stuck in the smack dab in the middle of a deer stampede. The boys of course thought this was great and were laughing so hard as the deer ran passed both sides of us. Mommy was just standing still praying one of the darns things didn’t run the stroller over.

Hindsight, it was pretty cool and I wish I had my camcorder to catch the moment. Not that I would want to do it again with the boys since it could have turned out differently, but since all was OK it was pretty neat. I did get a couple of photos of the last deer’s that passed us as they were leaping in the air.

This was also the first time I have ever been to the river while no one else was there. Just beautiful isn't it.

The boys had the best time playing in the dirt and throwing rocks by the river. Hey what can I say, they're boys. LOL!

Tomorrow we are meeting my parents at a pumpkin patch in my home town. Hopefully it’s not raining because I would really love to dress the boys in their Halloween costumes and try to get some cute photos for Halloween this year. We’ll see if Mother Nature is on my side or not. If not, then I’ll be taking pictures of little muddy boys in their old play clothes. Either way, I’m sure I’ll get come cute photos.

Enough of my rambling. LOL! I have another QP I made with my Fall Splendor kit. Beginning next week, I will have four brag book pages from this kit as well.

Good Morning All!

Well, did you blow up those hard drives yesterday? LOL!

Can you believe how awesome all the kits looked? Thank you again to all the fabulous designers who contributed to both collabs. Everyone went above and beyond to bring you a couple of killer mega-kits.

I want to say thank you to everyone who has left me comments. You all are so sweet and I do appreciate the time you take to drop me a little note.

Jesse7 – (I know this may be a bit late) Potty training is still a no go, partially because of them and partially because of me. It’s still a big game with them so I’m hoping another month will ease that issue a bit. Also, we have been so darn busy out and about the past month I haven’t wanted to put potty training on them in public. I figure after Halloween will be a great time to do it. The rain will have started so we will be home a lot more and then they can learn in the comfort of their own home. We are still watching ‘Once Upon A Potty – For Boys’, they love this movie. We’re going to a potty party, (come on and sing) we’re going to a potty party…LOL!

Vintage Victorian Daily Download Day 10

Happy Friday!

Yesterday I took the meal to the new mom in our club. Thankfully I re-read the restrictions on the meals and I noticed they requested no mushrooms. I changed up the menu I was taking over since the spinach salad I like has mushrooms and decided to take meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a caesar salad instead.

I had met the new mom one other time at a dessert night we had at The Cheesecake Factory. I didn’t know her before that and when she walked in, I immediately new she was pregnant with twins. She was so slender and her belly was straight out. When I talked to her today, she let me know her final measurement was 55” around the belly. She was 36 weeks when I met her and she delivered at 39 weeks. Wow! I can’t image having a belly that big.

It’s so funny for me to talk to MoM’s who have made it full term. The aches, pains and just overall size they go through just to make sure they have two (or more) healthy, happy babies just amazes me. These women are so strong and amazing. I wish I could’ve been able to carry my boys as long as some of these wonderful women have.

I feel a bit guilty since I can’t relate and help them through this time when they have questions. For those that don’t know, I only made it to 29 weeks with my twins before I delivered. Full term for twins is 36-38 weeks. The most I measured was 28”. That is probably what a lot of people measure full term with one baby. Don’t get me wrong, now the boys are happy and healthy I don’t miss not growing that big, but I also would have liked to be able to carry them longer so they would have been born healthier and not have had to spend 7 weeks in the NICU before coming home. We are truly blessed the boys didn’t have more medical problems since they were 11 weeks premature, and we are so happy they have met all the goals of a full term baby before the 3rd birthday.

Speaking of our MoM’s club, I had to actually kick someone out of the club today. I never thought when I took this position I would ever have to deal with anything like this. I just don’t understand people sometimes. We did everything for this mom, including delivering meals 30 miles out of everyone’s way, and for some reason she has now turned against the club. She started bad mouthing members of the club as well as the club its self. The one thing I really want as president is to be sure this club is a positive experience for all the members. I had consulted our club's board about the developing situation a week ago and everyone agreed this is not a good thing. Then this morning I woke up to find an e-mail that just blew me away. I was hoping things would blow over but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. I am sad about what occurred today but unfortunately I felt I didn’t have any other choice.

I’ll just say thanks now for listening to me vent about my club drama. Really, I hate drama and try to stay as far away from it as possible. I tell my hubby about things and he just tells me “you are a president of a club full of women, what do you expect”. LOL! I guess he’s right in a way. I just figured we are all adult enough now to handle things responsibly and respectfully. Oh well, I am not going to let it get me down. I am going to make this the best MoM’s club out there for all the members.

I am going to take a few days off, but don’t fret I will be back. In fact, I will be back October 1st with two, yes two, collab’s. So get those hard drives ready!

Happy Hump Day!

Whoo! I can’t believe I almost missed this post. What would you do without daily ramblings about life with twins? (LOL!)

This should be nice and short since I have to get out and about this morning running errands. I’ve got two stores to hit and meals to pick up for a new mommy in our club and her family. The boys are going to hate me after today.

They used to be such good little shoppers. I could give them snacks and they would sit so quietly in the stroller, and now they hate shopping. I guess that was to be expected being they are 2 ½ year old boys, but I sure do miss the days of quite shopping. About the only thing I can bribe them with now is banana nut bread from Starbucks. I guess I will be having a latte or two tomorrow, which of course mommy never minds having to have.

I thinking for the meal I’m going to pickup ingredients for chicken alfredo and spinach salad. That should be some good calories for a new mommy of twins. What’s this meal thing you ask? When a member of our multiples club has her little ones, we ask other members of our club to volunteer to bring her and her family meals so they have more time to bond with their new additions and adjust to life with multiples. We try to get two weeks or more of meals donated and usually have no problem having enough volunteers to accomplish that. Thanks GCMoMmies!

We are now to Day 8 of the daily download. Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I am reading all them and I am so happy so many of you are enjoying this kit.

Good Morning All!

I would love to start out this morning telling ya’ll about my first day back to work but I can’t, because it didn’t happen. No frets though. My boss wasn’t feeling well and since her hubby just tested positive for strep throat she didn’t want me to come in and possibly pass the illness to the boys.

It was nice not having to go in last night. The night before we lost our little kitty and so we didn’t get much sleep at all. She’s a tiny little thing and she is so friendly we were worried someone might have picked her up to take her home. So first thing this morning, the boys and I walked the neighborhood leaving flyers at doors and hanging a couple of flyers on some lights. Luckily, when we came back from a play date this morning she was back in the house. Woo Hoo! We think she may have just been trapped in a neighbor’s garage for the night. I don’t know what I would do without my little banana boat (aka: Hannah). She is the perfect little kitty.

Happy Fall!

I hope every enjoyed their last weekend of summer.

Saturday we went to our friend Lee’s house for an end of summer party. It is always nice to be around good friends, good food and good fun.

One of Lee’s brother-in-laws is a self-proclaimed king of bbq’d oysters. I wasn’t sure at the beginning of the party if I was up for trying oysters but get a little beer in me and I guess I’ll try anything. He bbq’d the oysters in their shell with some butter and garlic then served them with a bit of chile sauce on top. Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm! Those were so delicious I couldn’t get enough of them.

Hubby had the opportunity to relive his Chico College years by playing a game of beer pong with the youngin’s. LOL! He is so competitive so I new it would be no time before he joined in a game. Hubby and his teammate Chris were winning in the beginning but then the youngin’s came back to win in the end.

The boys had a blast at the party. There were so many kids for them to play with. The boys also had the opportunity to play with Lego’s for the first time. Not the big Duplo type for little kids but the itty bitty big kid Lego’s. Once they found those we didn’t see them for the rest of the night. This was a nice break for Mommy and Daddy so we could have some adult social time.

Sunday was nice and quite for us. We picked up the boys Halloween costumes and spent the rest of the day at home relaxing.

Today, I am going back to work for the first time since the boys were born. I am so happy to be returning back to my previous employer who I just adore. She is offering me hours that will work around my husbands schedule so we don’t have to find child care for the boys, which would probably cancel my paychecks if we did (LOL!). Even though I am returning to my all time favorite employer, I am still a bit nervous for some reason. Oh well, I guess that is just a normal feeling and I’m sure once I get in there and we start chatting again all will be good.

We have a pretty busy week this week with work, play dates and club activities, but I will definitely get the last parts of the kit posted each day beginning with Day 6 today.

Happy Friday!

Sorry for all the short posts the past couple of days. This week has turned out to be a bit busier that I had expected. I was hoping for a slow down in club activity since the picnic was over but we’ve had a few things come up this week that have needed my immediate attention.

Jody – I didn’t forget about you. I’ve been looking at my recipe cards and the papers I used and it’s hard for me to tell where exactly where I grabbed them from. I love tartan papers and have so many of them and the details vary only slightly between them all. When I designed the recipe cards, I pulled papers from various kits and kept the one’s I liked the best.

If you like tartan papers, you can visit Delicious Scraps and scroll through her blog. She periodically offers free papers for commercial use and I know she has posted a few tartan paper freebies recently. I always grab the tartan papers she offers so you might find some of the papers I used in one of her freebies. Sorry I don’t have the links for the exact papers I used.

Congratulations on being a grandparent of twins! The boys are my parents first and only grandchildren (I’m and only child) so they are finding out quickly how busy it can be, and they are loving every minute of it. Grandparents are such a special part of a child’s life. I am truly blessed my parents want to be involved with the boys lives and the boys get to experience the love only a grandparent can give them.

Rottie Mom – I am so jealous of your view. I know all the beautiful landmarks you mentioned and I am lucky to have been able to visit all of them. Hubby has yet to visit any of them so I think that is a great reason to plan a long overdo trip. Now, I just hope my boys will enjoy the ferry rides.

We’re going to be busy once again this weekend so I will begin posting the other half of this kit on Monday.

Happy Monday!

How was everyone’s weekend?

Friday, the boys and I went up to Apple Hill for the day. We visited four apple orchards and one winery (they do have a play ground for little ones). It was so nice to go up the hill and get out of the heat for a while.

We played at the winery for a bit, pet some goats and pigs at another orchard (can’t remember the name of this one), ate lunch and played at Abel's Apple Orchards, and finished off the day feeding some trout and getting up and close to some ducks at High Hill Orchards.

Friday afternoon Hubby came down with what the boys and I had last week, so Saturday I was on my own with the boys at the MoM’s picnic. (Sigh!) There were so many kids it seemed like every time I turned around one of my boys were missing. (This is one of my biggest fears.) The bad part is the park is boarded by two busy streets so I was always freaked one of the boys wandered to the street side.

The picnic was a great success. I didn’t get to be as social as I would have liked since I was on my own but all the families seemed to have such a great time. I can’t believe how many itty bitty multiples we have in our group now. I love to see all the new little ones and it is so great the parents are taking the big step and venturing out with them.

We had so much food left over so I took some to our church for families in need and I also took some to our local fire department to give the guys a break from cooking. Now it’s time to start planning our Halloween Carnival for next month.

Sunday we spent the day at hubby’s company picnic. They had a lady from animal interaction come to show the kids animals of the world, a bounce house, crafts, and three playgrounds for the kids as well as a horse shoe competition and softball game for the adults.

Kaden has always enjoyed bouncing in bounce houses but Logan has been a bit hesitant, until today. I am so proud of Logan for climbing into the bounce house all on his own and giving it a try. Once he realized how much fun it was we could not get him out of there. LOL! All they did was bounce, bounce, bounce. And then they fell fast asleep.

Rottie Mom – Thank you so much for the pictures. You’re babies are so adorable. Seeing the little puppy makes me want another so bad. Here are the scrap pages I mentioned in my e-mail:

fl_connie – You actually read my blog! (LOL!) And yes I do read all my comments. I am so happy you are enjoying my kits. I understand about saying ‘thanks’. Sometimes I’m downloading things and I have the boys pulling at me and then I think back later wondering if I said thanks or not. I try my best, but I know I am not perfect.

Diana – Congratulations on the upcoming new addition. I'll pray the little one is born happy and healthy. You know, I have always wanted to learn to quilt. I love anything that has to do with quilting (the patterns, the fabric, everything) but I have no clue how to do it. Maybe when the boys get older I will have the time to devote to learning it. I really want to.

Jesse7 – Wow 13 years old. I remember that age. I think that’s about 8th grade right? Next there is high school, boys, dating, oh boy. I’ll stick with my boys (LOL!). I couldn’t image having two girls hit teenage years at the exact same time. Even though, hubby always reminds me of things he did growing up and what I am in for having boys.

Designed – You ask and you shall receive. As you can see the Vintage Victorian downloads begin today. The Fall Splendor kit is part of a collab I am doing with Wenchd Grafix which is set to be released October 1st. I really like how that kit turned out and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

Speaking of collabs, I have officially lost it. I am participating in two collabs that are both set to be released October 1st , Fall Splendor with Wenchd Grafix and Sugar Shoppe with ADSDesigners. When this all began, I didn’t really think about how I am going to blog about two collabs that are released on the same day. Do I post two separate blogs, one for each kit, or post both kits in one blog? I am going to have to ponder this and try to figure out what will be the best/easiest for everybody.

I know I have been long winded this morning, very long winded. This sometimes happens after a whole weekend of toddler talk. Can you tell I am in need of some adult conversation? LOL!

Well don’t fret, it is freebie time. I am going to offer my newest kit in bits and pieces over the next two weeks. It’s called Vintage Victorian. I’m not sure if I’m too happy with how Vintage or how Victorian the kit turned out to be, but here it is none the less.

Who’s Who and a Big Thank You

Rottie Mom – Do you really have rotties? I have a 10 year old male named Buddy. I adopted him when he was 2 years old from the local shelter before realizing he had been severely abused by his previous owners. With lots of love, he has become the best dog ever. He is awesome with our boys. I will never find another dog like him.

Linda W – Are you bobbysgirlforever? Just curious. If you are, I will feel like the luckiest designer ever. If not, I still would love to learn a bit more about you. I see your name a lot on my 4shared and I am honored you are enjoying my kits.

C from Paris – Did I also mention I am the president and web admin for a non-profit club supporting mothers of multiples. I don’t know how I do it either but I know hubby is always asking “Are you on that darn computer again” LOL! Guess I just can’t sit still. How is it downloading from designers in America? Is there anything that I could do to make it easier for you? I know I visit some other sites where designers reside in different countries and, because I’m not well educated in different languages, I sometimes have difficulties.

Jesse7 – Are you still up for trading little ones? LOL! Remember, I have two that are almost 3 yrs. old. Oh, and they are not potty trained yet. You would be going back to stinky, icky diapers. LOL! We’re going to try the potty training after summer mellows out a bit. I am really hoping to have the set before they are 3 yrs. old.

Lezlee – I’m going to work on getting some more recipes up and posted. I have just run out of time this week with all the MoM’s club’s dealines. Don’t worry, I didn’t forget you. :) If you have any recipes you want to send I can upload them and get them posted here on my blog.

Autumn Flower Recipe Collection Day 4

Happy Friday!

What a week it has been. We are all finally feeling better which is great since this weekend is our MoM's club Annual Summer Picnic.

We are expecting 33 families of multiples, which is about 75 children who are mostly all multiples. This event is definitely the event members don’t want to miss. There are two playgrounds for all the kids, crafts and activities, and Rosie the Clown will be stopping by to paint some little faces and make some cute little balloon critters. We’ll be dishing out fried chicken and all the sides to be sure the little bundles of energy have enough energy to keep going all day. The kids are going to have so much fun and the parents are going to get a good night’s sleep tomorrow night.

We have been finishing up all the last minute details for the picnic this week as well as closing our membership renewal. I think I have been on the computer more with all the club activity than I usually am scrapping. Hubby didn’t think that was possible but hey, I have to prove him wrong sometimes. (LOL!) I can’t wait until next week when things calm down a bit.

I also found out last night that my hubby's work picnic is on Sunday. Don’t you just love how bad hubby’s are at relaying information from work? I have had requests for information about the flowers I used on the recipe cards. Some are commercial use items that can still be purchased. I’ve had some issues come up with our multiples club that has required my attention so I wasn’t able to get the information for today’s post. I keep forgetting to mention the font that I used for the headings was Veranda Regular 12pt, and the font used for the actual recipe was Honey Script Light 12 pt (bold for the name of the recipe). If you would like to download free fonts to add to your collection, a good site is DaFont. Some fonts are marked for personal use only and some are commercial use friendly.

Autumn Flower Recipe Collection Day 1

Good Morning All!

My posts this week will probably be pretty quite. This Saturday is our Mothers of Multiples groups annual summer picnic. Since I am the president, I need to devote my time to the club and be sure the picnic is a success.

Jody – Sorry, but I double checked the TOU’s from the templates I used and unfortunately I am not permitted to offer them in a layered PSD format. The TOU’s specifically state the files must be a merged .png/.jpg/etc. file. I can offer the main recipe part on it’s own since I created that and then you can fit that to your own templates. Let me know if you would like that and I will zip it and upload it for you.

Lezlee – I am so happy to hear you would like to exchange recipes. I will try and set something up by the end of this week. Thanks again!

Autumn Flower Recipe Collection

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

This week I have for you a four page collection of Autumn Flower Recipe Cards. This came about in a phone conversation I had with my sister-in-law, Sandra. During our conversation, we thought it would be fun to create a family recipe book this fall for all the family.

The cards are sized 8.033 x 6.067 inches. I left them big in case anyone would like to use them for a friend or family member who has a hard time reading small print. Of course they can always be resized smaller if you prefer a smaller card.

The font size in my Salsa de Chile Rojo Recipe is as follows; (Recipe for, Serves, From the Kitchen of) 18 pt (Ingredients, Instructions) 12 pt. The large sized card gives plenty of room for the larger recipes that require a smaller font size.

This morning you can download the recipe for my Salsa de Chile Rojo (see below). I will offer the blank recipe cards throughout the rest of the week, one per day.

If you enjoy spicy Spanish food, give this recipe a try. Warning: This is spicy! We love heat over here so if you prefer mild Spanish food, you will need to adjust the spice according to what you like best (Sandra-last time I made this since kids were eating it also, believe it or not I really cut back on the spice). We usually serve it over white rice but it can be served over just about anything. If you do decide to give it a try, let me know what you think. I hope you really like it.

Ok Sandra, here’s my first recipe for the recipe book. Now we need one from you (wink, wink). How about Brett’s oh so yummy taco’s or Miriam’s spanish rice?

Happy Friday!

This is going to be a quick post since Logan still has a low grade fever. He is such a snuggle bug when he isn’t feeling well, which of course is one of the benefits of him not feeling well that I love.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I’ve decided to remove the links for last month’s collab, Zoo Spirit, by the end of the week. If you still would like to grab my portion of the collab be sure to do so before Friday.

My poor little Logan had a fever again this afternoon. I feel so bad for him since it has only been about a week since he had croup.

We had another fiesta last Saturday with a friend of mine from out of state and a mutual friend of ours brought her daughter and they both had runny noses. (Sigh) You know, I wish people would sometimes think of others and just opt to miss an event. We’ve missed plenty of things when the boys have been sick, it’s just something you have to suck up as a parent. Oh well, I guess what’s done is done.

Since this is the first day, I’m not sure what he has yet. His fever has only hit 101 degrees (I say only because I will let a fever run to 103 since a fever is how your body fights an infection) so I’m not too concerned. It’s just a bummer he has to feel crappy again for another 7-10 days.

This morning I have a QP from my Cornucopia of Colors kit. This one is filled with a picnic full of tasty treats. I will have one more QP on Friday and that is all that I am doing for the collab this month. I will have a new surprise for everyone next Monday.
